Archbishop John Ha Tiong Hock was born on March 5, 1947 in Kuching, Sarawak. He was ordained a priest on Dec. 14, 1972, and was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Kuching on Jan. 17, 1998. His episcopal ordination was on June 6, 1998. He was appointed Archbishop of Kuching on June 23, 2003, and was installed on July 16, 2003. He is the president of the Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei Episcopal Biblical Commission.
