Pope Benedict XVI appointed Bishop Nicholas Mang Thang of Hakha as the new Coadjutor Archbishop of Mandalay Archdiocese on Nov. 30, 2011. At the same time, he will be the Apostolic Administrator of his former Diocese of Hakha. The 69-year-old bishop was ordained priest in 1973, appointed auxiliary bishop of Mandalay in 1988 and appointed bishop of Hakha in 1992.
