Bishop Francis Xavier Myong-ok Ahn

Bishop Francis Xavier Ahn Myong-ok was born on Dec. 7, 1945, in Masan. He was ordained a priest on Feb. 2, 1975, and appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Masan on Oct. 23, 2000. His episcopal ordination was on Jan. 8, 2001. He was installed Bishop of Masan on Nov. 11, 2002. Bishop Ahn is the chairperson of the Bioethics Sub-committee under the Committee for the Doctrine of the Faith and is a member of the Episcopal Commission for Doctrine of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea (CBCK). He is also a member of the Permanent Council of the CBCK.
