Bishop Gabriel Bong-hun Chang

Bishop Gabriel Chang Bong-hun was born on Jan. 4, 1947, in Eumseong, Chungcheongbuk-do(province). He was ordained a priest on May. 3, 1976, and was appointed Bishop of Cheongju on June 3, 1999. His episcopal ordination was on Aug. 24, 1999. Bishop Chang is the president of the Committee for Catechesis of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea (CBCK). He is also a member of the Episcopal Commission for Doctrine and the Special Episcopal Commission to Promote Beatification and Canonization of the CBCK.
