Bishop Hilarius Moa Nurak was born on Feb. 21, 1943, in Weetebula, Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara province. He was ordained a priest of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) in Flores on Aug. 2, 1972, and appointed Bishop of Pangkalpinang on May 2, 1987. His episcopal ordination was on Aug. 2, 1987. Presently, he is chairman of the Indonesian Bishops' Commission for Seminaries.
