Bishop Sebastianappan Singaroyan

Bishop Sebastianappan Singaroyan was born on Jan. 18, 1952, in Elathagiri in the Dharmapuri District of Tamil Nadu. He was ordained a priest on May 27, 1978, and appointed Bishop of Salem on Aug. 1, 2000. His episcopal ordination was on Oct. 18, 2000. Bishop Singaroyan was working as Professor of Theology and Director of Pastoral Ministry at Good Shepherd Inter-diocesan Major Seminary, Coimbatore, before his appointment as the diocesan prelate. He is also now the chairman of the Tamil Nadu Bishops' Council Commission for Evangelization.
