Archbishop Andrew Yeom Soo-jung of Seoul has said the importance of Bible in every pastoral area must be highlighted. In his pastoral letter for 2014 released recently he said, “The Word of God is a driving force for evangelization.”

"Faith is generated by the Word of God; it grows stronger with the teachings of the Church and bears fruit through the actions of love. This is why it is necessary to continue to work so that the foundation of faith that we learned and discovered during the Year of Faith dwells in each of us," the Archbishop said.

The pastoral guidelines advise the faithful to read and daily meditate upon the Scripture; invites priests to always put Christ at the centre of their homilies and preaching. It exhorted the faithful to live the new evangelization of the Church and the world with joy and renewed hope.

The Communications Office of the Diocese of Seoul informed that the local Church proposed to all the faithful to have a vital relationship with the Word of God by daily reading, meditation, sharing in small groups, analysis and biblical studies.
