Taytay parish holds living Rosary for Year of Faith
Dubbed as ‘Family Rosary in the Year of Faith’, the activity is meant to bring family and community members together.
Aimed at renewing their faith in the power of the Holy Rosary in bringing the community together and in healing the society of its ills, the parishioners of St. John the Baptist in Taytay launched a living rosary for the concluding celebration of the Year of Faith on November 26.
Dubbed as ‘Family Rosary in the Year of Faith’, the activity is meant to bring family and community members together, as they fervently desire “to meditate on the mysteries of Christ so as to assimilate the Gospel in order to live daily an authentic Christian life towards a journey of faith to eternity.”
Devotees gathered on October 30 in front of the old Municipal Hall for the 3 o’clock chaplet of the Divine Mercy, followed by recitation of the Luminous mysteries of the Holy Rosary as they proceeded in solemn procession to the parish church.
The Knights of the Altar led the throng with a giant Rosary replica carried by the Knights of Columbus hand-in-hand with mostly elderly women Marian devotees.
Barefoot Señor Nazareno devotees carried the icons of the Divine Mercy and the Our Lady of the Rosary.
At the parish patio, the parish priest Father Arnel Lagarejos led the praying of the Glorious Mysteries using the giant Rosary replica. He consecrated the devotees to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The written petitions offered by devotees were burned before the final benediction.
